RIALTO RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE MEADOWS FOUNDATIONThe Rialto Preservation Association proudly accepted a grant from the Meadows Foundation for $150,000. In the photo, Barbara Welder, vice president of the association, hands the notification envelope to Mark Parsons, president. Pictured are (back, from left) Rita San Miguel, Sally Friedlander, Jodi Huegler and Libby Spires, treasurer of the association. Members of the association are still writing for more grants and holding fundraisers in order to get the Rialto open once again. The goal of the Rialto is to raise approximately $60,000-$100,000 to open the doors of the grand old theater for the first time in 22 years. The Board announced its hope to open the historic Art Deco theater (one of a kind) in 2009. |
